How to write my Adventurous Journey Report

Not sure how to write your Adventurous Journey report?

First, tell us about your Practice Journey:
- Where did you go? When did you go?
- What did you do?
- How did this prepare you for your Qualifying Journey?
- Did you complete your Preliminary Training?
(1-2 paragraphs)

Next, tell us about your Qualifying Journey:

-Why did you choose to make this Journey?
- Where did you go? When did you go?
- How did you get there?
- Who went with you? Were they also working on their Duke of Ed Award?
- What did you do while you were there?
- How far did you travel?
- What did you learn? What did you see?
- What was most challenging about this journey?
- What would you do differently next time?
(Br 1-2 pages, Si 2-3 pages, G 3-4 pages)
Many participants find writing the report like a journal to be helpful.

Be sure to include:
- Personal equipment list (what did you bring for yourself?)
- Group equipment list (what did you share with others?)
- First-Aid and emergency equipment list (What was in your first-aid kit?)
- A map indicating your route, campsites and distances
- Trip menu (what did you eat?)

Note, these materials should be the participant's own and not one provided to them. Each participant must complete their own report.

The format for the report is flexible, so be creative! Include photos or make a PowerPoint. It doesn't have to be boring!

Make sure your Record Book is complete with dates and signatures as well.
