Completed the Award Program?
Pins, Certificates and Ceremonies




COMPLETED THE AWARD PROGRAMME? NOW WHAT...?

Check the Record Book to make sure that:

  • Everything is filled in properly and completely.
  • The Expedition Report is completed and in a format suitable to be forwarded to the Division Award Office.
  • The proper amount of time has been served in each section.
  • All of the assessors have filled in and signed in the proper places for each section.

Fill out the Appropriate Award Application Form

  • Make sure that the information is copied correctly from the Record Book to the Application Form, as this becomes the permanent record that is kept on file at the Division Office.
  • Fill in the name, as the participant wishes it to appear on the official certificate.
  • Sign the Award Application Form.
  • The leader should sign the Award Application (not required for independents).

Forward the Following Materials to the Provincial Office

  • Participantís Record Book
  • Completed Award Application Form
  • Expedition Log/Report

Note: The application is reviewed by the Division Award Office. If the application is approved, the participant will receive a congratulatory letter, and subsequently, will be invited to attend an Award Ceremony for the Silver and Gold Levels, for the Bronze the certificate and pin are presented locally. If the application is incomplete, the participant will receive a letter which will indicate what is missing. Participants are encouraged to re submit their application when they have completed all of their outstanding requirements.

CERTIFICATES and CEREMONIES

CERTIFICATES AND PINS

  • Bronze Certificates and pins are presented locally.
  • Silver Certificates and pins are presented by the Lieutenant Governor at a Silver Award Ceremony.
  • Gold Certificates are presented by the Governor General or a member of the Royal Family. Pins are passed to the individual.

CEREMONIES

Bronze ceremonies are organized at the local level. Several groups may be accommodated at once, especially if the presentations take place during a municipal council meeting with the Mayor presenting. Silver ceremonies are held two times a year at Government House, for Yukon participants the Silver certificate and pin are presented by the Commissioner. The Lieutenant Governor presides at the ceremony. Gold ceremonies are held from time to time as number of Gold achievers and Royal visit itineraries dictate. These ceremonies may be staged anywhere in Canada. A Member of the Royal Family or the Governor General of Canada presides. The achieverís leader is invited to attend the ceremony, as are the parents/guardian. The number of other guests may be restricted because of space limitations.
