Award Assessment Committee
( < Back to Volunteers Page)
If you are located in the Toronto area , or soon will be, we could use your help! The Ontario office is responsible for assessing all of the Awards completed in Ontario . In order to accomplish this growing task, we ask that volunteers donate one night a month, when able, to come to our office and help assess completed awards! This is a great chance to network with other Award Holders, Group Leaders, or Award affiliates. We even offer pizza as a little bribe! Below is the information for a typical meeting:
| When: |
All day time slots and an evening time slot starting around 6pm - 8pm |
| Where: |
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Ontario Office, 14 Adelaide Street West, Suite 201, Toronto |
| Who: |
Volunteers (group leaders, Award Holders, other wonderful people) Please note that you do not need to be involved currently with the programme to volunteer with this committee HOWEVER you do need to have a good understanding of how the Award operated in order to assess Awards. If you are currently an Award participants, we would ask that you wait until you have completed you Award before you join this committee.
|
| How: |
We provide an outline check list to help with the assessment, and you will have the chance to chat with the other assessors around you. |
| Why: |
The Ontario Office is receiving an increasing number of Awards, and we can’t do it alone! This is a way to stay in touch and give back to the Award, and also great volunteer experience for your resume or school application! |
