Canoe Trips - CHOCPAW Expeditions, South River, Ontario
Arrival and accommodation the first night at Spirit Point is always an option. Cost is $65.00 per person plus GST. This includes dinner on the day of arrival, evening instruction or activity, one night accommodation, and breakfast the next morning. Post trip accommodation is available at the same rate.

We will give a 10% discount to groups of 6 or more.

South River is accessible by bus, train or airport limo. We will pick up and deliver to Spirit Point.

Dogsledding trips - CHOCPAW Expeditions South River, Ontario
These trips will provide Bronze, Silver and Gold participants with a winter adventurous qualifying journey. This has become a very popular trip with DEA participants from all parts of Ontario. Experience a trip by dogsled into Algonquin Park’s winter wonderland as seen by members of the Group of Seven. As per the DEA criteria - you will need to complete a winter practice trip prior to the qualifying expedition. For more info on winter practice trips contact the Ontario Office at 416-203-2282 or by email at ontario@dukeofed.org

PRACTICE TRIPS:
Practice Trips will not be offered by CHOCPAW. If you are interested in any of the Qualifying Trips below, you MUST complete preliminary training and a winter practice trip. The only preliminary training and winter practice trip left in 2007 is offered through Seneca Collge on Dec. 15th & 16th. Please register for these trips ASAP, as these are the only organized trips left before the qualifying dogsledding trips. It is up to the participant to set up their own preliminary training and winter practice trip if the Dec. 15th & 16th trips are not completed. Please check out our Expedition Schedule 2007 & 2008 for more trip dates and contact information.

QUALIFYING TRIPS:
*Please note that the one day Dec. 16th winter practice trip offered through Seneca College is acceptable for the Silver and Gold Level Qualifying dogsledding trips.

Dates:
January 2nd - 4th, 2008 - Silver
January 2nd - 5th, 2008 - Gold
March 10th - 12th, 2008 - Silver
March 10th - 13th, 2008 - Gold

**For groups of 4 or more, other dates can be requested that suit their schedule if the above dates do not. Please contact Kate Reid directly at Chocpaw at chocpaw@on.aibn.com for additional trips.

COST:
-Cost payable to CHOCPAW for 3 Day / 2 Night Bush trip (Silver) is $395.50 per person plus GST.
-Cost payable to CHOCPAW for the 4 Day / 3 Night Bush trip (Gold) is $504.00 per person plus GST.
**NOTE: These rates include park fees, all food during the trip and a hot lunch served upon return from the trip. Chocpaw provides all sledding, camping and cooking equipment. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award trips will remain at a 30% discount off our regular rates.

Participants need to bring proper attire, winter boots and a winter sleeping bag. Participants must be at CHOCPAW by 10.30 am on the first day. If you require to stay overnight, you can make reservations at the Algonquin Motel. We are back by noon to the dog yard on the last day then leave South River by about 1.00 pm.

***Please note that transportation to and from South River is the responsibility of the participant. (Transportation can be provided for an additional cost).
