Peacekeeper Park (PKP) Adventure Camp has positions open this year for camp counsellors. These positions are unpaid and can be used to fulfill the residential component of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Please be advised there is no cost for this program. The campers will be involved in hiking, canoeing, rope bridge, abseiling, archery, sports, swimming, out camps, campfire cooking, daily campfires, crafts and mountain biking. Outward Bound Canada brings you: "Adventures with Jane Goodall - Redefining what it means to be Human"

We are offering this 5-day outdoor experiential adventure course to a variety of schools and to students grades 7 to 12 with a limited enrollment of 8 groups of 10 participants. This course will be held in Algonquin Provincial Park.

"Redefining what it means to be Human": The observations that Jane Goodall made during her research on chimpanzees at Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania transformed our understanding of what it means to be human. We had previously separated ourselves from the rest of the animal kingdom by a number of definitions, mainly that humans use tools and no other species do. When Jane Goodall saw chimpanzees making and using tools, the lines between humans and other species began to blur. Participants will reflect on their relationships with species in the park, both flora and fauna, develop their own personal definitions of what it means to be human, and determine the responsibilities of being the dominant species.
