DUKES IN THE CITY
STARTS SEPTEMBER 27, 2005, 7-10pm
"Dukes in the City" is about youth getting together and having fun! It's a nine week program being run through Toronto City Parks and Recreation every Tuesday evening from 7-10 pm. It is a co-operative effort giving youth a forum for recreation, skill development and an introduction to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Programme. Click for more info.

SILVER AWARD CEREMONY - OCTOBER 22, 2005 - FULL
Notices sent out on September 7, 2005. Please check your mail box and respond ASAP. There are only 80 spaces that can be filled and about 250 notices were sent. If you are put on the waiting list, you will be priority list for the next ceremony.
Remember, if you do return your notice, you MUST still receive a formal invitation indicating that you have been included in the final guest list.
Official invitations to the 80 participants will be sent out the week of October 1 and must be replied to.

DUKE WEEKEND AT PKP
When: October 28-30, 2005
Opportunities for community service, preliminary training and a practice journey. This includes activities like trail construction, park maintenance and planting trees. Other outdoor training activities will focus on personal leadership development and building networks and friendships. Program cost is $30.00 for the weekend per participant.

UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE CONFERENCE

This weekend is open to all DEA university / college participants, university / college outdoor clubs and international university students. The focus for the weekend will be certification workshops, outdoor activities and special guest speakers - Bob Henderson from Mc Master University and Les Stroud also know as SURVIVORMAN from the OLN TV network channel .

Silver Ceremony - MAY 14, 2005 FULL
UPDATE: Official invitations have been sent out to those who are on the list for the ceremony. Those participants that responded but will not be on the list due to space limitations have been phoned on April 27th, 2005.
The next Silver Ceremony will take place on May 14, 2005. Notices have already been sent out in March to all eligible participants. It is crucial that these notices are returned ASAP as there are a limited number of spaces. If you have not received a notice but were anticipating one, please contact the Ontario Office.

University weekend a success!!!
The First Annual DEA Universities Conference was held on March 18-20, 2005. Participants and Award Holders from several universities in Ontario met at the Bark Lake facility to discuss the future of the Award with in Ontario universities. To see pictures from the week end click here.
