Over the course of his 10 years as a Group Leader for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Ravinder Safaya has ushered over 84 youth through the program, and has mentored and supported an additional 60 Participants who are at various stages of completing their Award. Many of the youth Ravi has supported throughout the Award return as Alumni volunteers to help him run his groups. Ravi has over 17 years of working with youth in many capacities, not only as a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Leader, but as a Youth Group Coordinator, Leadership Advisor, Scouts Leader, and Venturer Advisor.
As an Award Group Leader, Ravi has established Award groups at the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre of Coquitlam, Sri Yoga Hanuman Temple Society, and Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre of Vancouver. He is also the founder and director of the registered charity, Youth Leadership Society of British Columbia, which aims to promote the education and development of leadership skills in youth through experiential learning and Steps Together Foundation, which extends financial assistance to youth, as well as provide them opportunities for self-learning and capacity building.
