WELCOME TO YOUR AWARD CHALLENGE.

Taking part in the Duke of Ed isn't easy– it requires commitment over time.

You design how your Award looks like and set your own goals-- and if you need help with it, your parents, Assessors, Award Leader, and the Division Office are there to support you.

HOW DO I EARN MY AWARD?

  • Set SMART goals for every section of your Award.
  • Keep your Assessors informed of your progress. You should be in contact with each Assessor regularly (we recommend every 2-4 weeks).
  • Do your activities regularly (at least 1 hour per week) for the required time at your level. For more information, see our Award Framework.
  • Update your Online Record Book (ORB) regularly. Try to keep a journal or diary. You may like to take photos, shoot video, or record a soundtrack— and you can upload these files as part of your records.
  • Complete your Adventurous Journey: training and preparation, Practice Journey(s), and finally, Qualifying Journey. Don't forget to write up an appropriate Journey report.
  • Contact your Assessor when you complete a Section. Together, you should discuss your experience, achievements, and progress. This helps your Assessor provide the report required for your ORB.
