You don’t need to be an Award holder yourself to volunteer. We are seeking motivated individuals who have the aptitude, desire, and passion to support our work with young people aged 14-24. Help us champion young Canadians as they develop their full potential.

Board Director

Are you passionate about youth empowerment and developing the leaders of tomorrow? Our volunteer Board of Directors governs the Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut Division of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award program in Canada. We are a registered charity guided by the standards of The Award and best practices in non-profit governance. We welcome applications from individuals living in Alberta, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut from diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and experience. Community members interested in joining our Board of Directors are asked to submit a CV and Letter of Interest to the organization through our Board President, Nancy Jarjour-Szabo.

Volunteer Archivist (Part-Time)

We are seeking an archivist who can help our office digitize decades of history found on paper in our aging file cabinets. The work will be tedious, but interesting for the right person. You will be someone who is skilled in computers and familiar with data management software such as Sumac (preferred but not required), possess good communication skills, and can commit to a regular part-time work schedule. Your work will help our organization be better able to access information and tell our story of how the Award has grown in the Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut Division. You'll be working out of our downtown Calgary office, where we'll provide the workspace, computer, and scanner. Free coffee and tea is available and there is a small fridge in our kitchen to put your lunch in. Interested candidates must be at least 18 years old. Please submit a Letter of Interest detailing your experience to our Program Coordinator.
