IT Support Technician

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - Canada 
Role: IT Support Technician (Contract) 
Location: Toronto, Ontario 
Salary: $37,000 – 39,000 per annum dependent on experience

Summary of Role
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Canada is searching for a 1st / 3rd line IT support staff to provide onsite support to our National team and remote support / consultancy to all divisional teams across Canada. This candidate will also support the Digital Change Coordinator on current projects. Most hardware will be PC related.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • To oversee and maintain network administration, including creating new user profiles within Office 365 admin centre and managing SharePoint site permissions.
  • Provide IT support in a helpdesk capacity, delivering high quality customer service and continuous communication.
  • Log all support issues in ticketing software and update all action taken with user, ensuring all queries are resolved or escalated to the Digital Change Coordinator.
  • Collect, organize and maintain a problems & solutions knowledge base for future reference (FAQs).
  • Assist with PC and other hardware deployment, including installing software and hardware, troubleshooting in a PC environment.
  • Maintain installed PCs, networks, and peripherals with routine maintenance.
  • Assist with audio and video operations and set up for enabled meetings rooms.
  • To maintain a high standard of service for all support queries and resolve IT issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • To assist the Digital Change Coordinator with project work, during low volume support periods - this will typically involve tasks like regression testing, process mapping, and CRM development.
  • Providing input regarding how to improve or advance the IT and computer systems across our network is encouraged.​

Person Specification
This is an ideal first leadership position for somebody looking to enhance a good academic background with high-level professional experience. ​


  • Educated to degree level in IT / cyber management, communication & network management or equivalent relevant experience


  • Previous experience and enthusiasm for improving others use of IT hardware and software in a business environment
  • Solid experience working in an admin capacity on PCs and other hardware


  • Microsoft 365 Applications
