Provide the Award

The Award is a Catalyst

Today’s young people face a broad range of challenges and are bombarded by information, expectation, and uncertainty. They are growing up with complexities and challenges unseen by the previous generations.

If they are to succeed they need the skills, resilience and understanding to ensure they can take on unexpected challenges. The Award provides a program framework that develops these skills and inspires young people to unlock their potential.

If you work in a capacity where you engage with young people, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award provides an opportunity to help you enhance your developmental programming. We offer a framework that weaves into the fabric of what you do, and further supports your work to build young people’s skills.

Organizations that sign-up to deliver the Award are joining a growing family of Award Centres who want to use this framework to help young people find their purpose, passion and place in the world.

Why Deliver the Award?

The Award supplements your program and/or formal curriculum by inspiring young people to invest in their personal growth and continually overcome new challenges. Taking part in the Award encourages young people to step outside their comfort zones, find balance and build intrinsic motivation as well as resilience.

Your participants can join a million young people who are currently doing the Award around the world, in addition to millions of Award alumni.

The Award is recognized in more than 130 countries and territories. Award achievements are acknowledged by business leaders, post-secondary institutions and governments across the globe.

The Award supports growth and development of lifelong skills in your young people, staff and volunteers by offering the Award framework to engage in.

Become an Award Centre

Award Centre’s are organizations that choose to partner with the Award to deliver it to their members. An Award Centre is generally associated with a youth organization such as a school, community centre or organized youth group. Our Award Centres have trained Coordinators and Leaders who support and mentor participants as they work towards achieving their Award

  • Your organization is an established and reputable legal entity

  • You have values and a philosophy that aligns with the principles of the Award and the program can be a logical fit with your organization.

  • You have the administrative and financial capacity to manage delivery of the Award.

  • You have risk management and aligned youth protection policies and procedures.

As a high school teacher and long-time Award Leader I see the Duke of Edinburgh programme as an incredible opportunity for personal development for young people that will help them be successful throughout their lives.
