Frequently Asked Questions

What age do I have to be to apply?
You must be between the ages of 18 and 24 to apply.

Why is the minimum age requirement 18?
Our decision is based on participant and staff feedback from the Regina forum in 2018, as well as our experience as an organization with hosting events. We believe that young people between the ages of 18-24 will benefit the most  strongly from P2P Acadia. If you are turning 18 on or before July 8, 2019, then you may apply.

Unfortunately this new policy does leave a gap in the 16 and 17 year old range and we are regrettable about that. To compensate, we will be live-streaming all of our Duke talks on our Facebook page @dukeofedcanada

Do I have to be an Award participant to apply for Passion to Purpose?
No, you do not have to be an Award participant to apply.

Do I have to be a Canadian citizen to apply?
Yes. You must be a Canadian citizen, or have your permanent residency.

How do I apply?
You must fill in the application form at the bottom of this page and describe who you are, what your passion is, and how you plan to use said passion to make a difference in your community. Be creative with your application!

What expenses are covered for me?
Accommodations and food for the entire week; airfare travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia; transportation to and from the airport to Acadia University upon arrival and departure are all covered.

I didn’t get accepted; now what?
All hope is not lost! We will be live-streaming all of our key-note speeches on our Facebook page @dukeofedcanada. If you have a great idea, but aren't able to attend P2P, you can apply for a digital grant.
