From Canada to the World: Alumni Stories of Leadership and Impact

Award Awareness Week

What happens when young people take the skills they’ve built through the Award and apply them on the world stage?

Celebrate Award Awareness Week with us on Showcase Wednesday, October 22 at 12 PM ET, as the Award Canada Alumni Network (ACAN) presents a powerful panel of alumni whose Award began in different parts of the world—and have taken them across continents and into careers that make a difference. From Canada to Zambia to Australia, these changemakers are applying the skills they gained through the Award to lead in law, education, government, and international development, making a lasting impact on a global scale.

Moderated by Rochelle Prasad, Award Canada Youth & Alumni Director a globally recognized educator and youth policy advisor, the alumni panel includes:

  • Kate Konstantinova, an educator and Award Coordinator based in Toronto
  • Bibi Hakim , a Senior Parliamentary Affairs Advisor in Ottawa and passionate mental health advocate
  • Sophia Parkins, lawyer in Australia and Youth Advisory Panel member
  • Esanju Maseka, global changemaker from Zambia

Through stories of leadership, service, and cross-cultural impact, you’ll discover how the Award equips young people to thrive as confident, compassionate global citizens.
