I have worked with the Canadian Cadet Movement for over 40 years now and with the Award I’m sure for around 10 years. At the time the program mirrored so many activities that were part of the cadet program with regards to citizenship, volunteering and personal fitness/lifestyle goals and personal growth. Another person that worked with the cadet program, recruited me to become a leader in this great organization where youths & young adults can really make a difference in both their lives and others through volunteering and reaching out.

I still believe that this is an amazing program for youths and young adults to help them find their passions and make lifelong connections. The program helped young people learn about themselves, their skills, how to organize and use their time responsibly. Be objective and open to all possibilities, guide and mentor responsibly and have fun., I learned how to think and function outside the box. If someone is passionate about an activity/skill or learning opportunity then help them by finding ways to feed their passion.
