Example SMART Goal: I’m curious about how electronics work, so I’m setting aside an hour each week to learn. I’ll start with simple circuit projects using kits and gradually work my way up to understanding how all the components connect.

Example Assessor: Science teacher, technology teacher, or makerspace coordinator with electronics knowledge

Example Log: Built my first working circuit with a solar kit today! Figured out how connecting the wires makes the motor spin. Next week I’ll try a different setup to see what changes.

Example SMART Goal: I’m hitting the gym for an hour each week to build overall fitness. The twist? I’m also paying attention to how the machines work mechanically – combining fitness with my tech interests.

Example Assessor: Gym instructor, personal trainer, or recreation center staff

Example Log: Used the cable row machine for arm and back work. Upped the weight by 5 lbs from last week. Also figured out how the pulley system works! Trying the leg press next.

Example SMART Goal: I want to collect and donate used toys and electronics to local schools and youth organizations. For 13 weeks, I’ll spend an hour each week gathering items and coordinating deliveries.

Example Assessor: School principal, teacher, or charity volunteer coordinator

Example Log: Donated 5 working electronic toys to the elementary school today. The teacher was so excited – she said kids love hands-on stuff. Checking if anything needs repairs before donating next time.

(Completed as a team. Participants will work together to plan and complete their journey.)

Example Activity: Visit museums or science centers that showcase technology and machinery. Some even offer overnight experiences. Document the tech you see and connect it to your electronics interests.

Example Team Goal: As a team, we’ll explore at least one science or tech museum, document 10+ interesting exhibits, and create a presentation connecting old technology to modern electronics.

Example Assessor/Supervisor: Teacher, Award Leader, or museum educator
