Month 1

Onboarding & Silver Adventurous Journey Kick-off

In Month 1, you’ll focus on getting started with the Playbook and learning about the Adventurous Journey (AJ). This month is all about providing you with all the necessary tools and resources to begin your Silver Award.

 

Month 1 Resources Month 1 Checklist

In month one you will...

You will receive a Welcome Email containing all necessary information to kickstart your Silver Award journey.

You will also receive an invitation to an interactive Onboarding Kick-off Session, where you will learn about your Silver Award and have a chance to meet fellow participants. Participation is strongly recommended.

Buddy Assignment: You will be paired with a buddy within your group, who will serve as a support system throughout your Award journey.

You will receive an invitation to an Adventurous Journey Workshop, where you will be presented with the AJ Navigator, AJ Library of examples and other helpful resources to help you plan and undertake your Silver AJ. Participation is strongly recommended.

For your Major, you will complete an additional 26 weeks in one of your activity sections, either Physical Recreation, Skill, or Voluntary Service, resulting in a total of 52 weeks dedicated to one section. Begin participating in your Major or first section, ensuring to regularly update activity logs on the ORB.

You can either choose from our awesome activities below or come up with your own—either way, it’s all about having fun and growing along the way!

Month 1 checklist:

  1. Read the welcome email.
  2. Registered on the ORB.
  3. Attended your assigned Onboarding Kick-off session.
  4. Reached out to your assigned buddy on a platform you both prefer.

  1. Set up your Major/first section on the ORB (SMART Goal and Assessor contact details mandatory).

Please Note: Once your Major section has been approved by your Award Leader, begin logging your activity! Don’t forget you will need to complete 52 weeks of activity for your Major section!

If you have completed your Bronze Award, you will not need to select a Major. In this case, all three sections will require 26 weeks of activity for completion.

  1. Read through the AJ Navigator before attending the AJ Workshop
  2. Attended an Adventurous Journey workshop. Participation is strongly recommended.
