Esther Wang, Air Cadet and Award Participant
It is with a great sense of relief that we, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Canada, share with other members of the Award community, that Sgt. Esther Wang has returned safely to her family at Golden Ears Provincial Park in British Columbia. She went missing on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, after getting briefly separated from her group members.
We understand there will be questions about this incident, and Esther’s self-rescue. Currently, our thoughts are with her family and friends who are no doubt very pleased to be re-united. We would like to express our thanks for the incredible support and hard work of Police, Parks staff, and Search and Rescue staff and volunteers.
We are very grateful to see Esther returning safely, after what must have been a difficult time.
